CLEMSON, S.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that placekicker Nolan Hauser (ACC Specialist of the Week) and defensive end Will Heldt (ACC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week) have earned ACC weekly honors for their performances in Clemson's 28-20 come-from-behind victory against North Carolina on Saturday.
The selections give Clemson three ACC weekly honors this season. The Tigers have now garnered a total of 595 ACC weekly awards since 1968.
Hauser's selection marks his second straight ACC Specialist of the Week honor and the fourth of his career. Hauser now ties David Richardson (four) for the most ACC Specialist of the Week selections in Clemson history.
Hauser went 3-for-3 on field goals and 1-for-1 on PATs against North Carolina, accounting for 10 points in Clemson's eight-point victory. At 9-for-9 on field goals, Hauser leads the nation in field goals this season and has matched B.T. Potter’s 2022 mark for the second-most consecutive field goals to start a season without a miss by a Clemson kicker since 1980, trailing only Chandler Catanzaro’s 12 in 2012.
Heldt earned his first career ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week honor, sharing the award with Duke's Kevin O’Connor. Against North Carolina, Heldt notched 2.0 sacks for a second straight week, becoming the first Clemson player to reach 2.0 sacks in consecutive games since All-American Jeremiah Trotter Jr. did so against South Carolina and North Carolina in 2022. Heldt is one of three players nationally to have recorded 2.0 or more sacks in multiple games this season.
This week, Hauser, Heldt and the Tigers are preparing for a Friday night ACC matchup with the Cal Golden Bears on Sept. 25. That game is scheduled for a 10:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ESPN.
