CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson volleyball battled through a closely contested opening two sets before falling to New Hampshire, 27-25, 25-21, 25-10.
Clemson opened the match with a back-and-forth first set that featured multiple lead changes. Maddie Anspaugh led the Tigers with five kills and an ace, while Katherine Sandt recorded 10 assists and Addi Rains added five digs. New Hampshire ultimately edged Clemson, 27-25, to take the opening set.
The Tigers continued to battle in the second set, putting together a 5-0 scoring run that included an ace from Bri Washington. Ihuoma Ozoh made her collegiate debut during the set and recorded her first career kill as a Tiger. Trailing 21-15 late in the set, Clemson responded with four consecutive points behind Lauren Schneider and Anspaugh before New Hampshire closed out the set, 25-21.
Addi Rains highlighted the third set with a career-best 19 digs throughout the match. Anika Groom, Anspaugh and Schneider contributed kills for the Tigers, but New Hampshire secured the match with a 25-10 third-set victory.
With the loss, Clemson moves to 5-6 on the season.
