CLEMSON, S.C. – The ACC announced Tuesday that graduate goalkeeper Nona Reason was named ACC “Goalkeeper of the Week” for matches played from August 24-30. This is the second time Reason has received the honor in 2026.
Reason notched three saves in Clemson’s 1-0 road victory against Arkansas on August 28. This marks her third solo shutout of the season and the eighth of her career. Her performance was highlighted by a diving stop on a penalty kick to keep Arkansas off the board and swing momentum into the Tigers’ favor in the 62’. Entering the match, Arkansas was 47-5-5 at home since 2021.
The graduate has only allowed one goal in five matches so far this season, putting her at a .929 save percentage on the year and .754 for her career. Reason is the first Clemson Tiger to earn ACC Player of the Week honors twice in the same season since Makenna Morris received the award in back-to-back weeks in 2023.
The 2026 season is the first in which the ACC is recognizing “Goalkeeper of the Week” and “Freshman of the Week” honors for women’s soccer. These awards are given out in addition to “Offensive Player of the Week” and “Defensive Player of the Week”, which have been recognized as individual awards since 2015.
Reason and the Tigers return to the pitch on Thursday, September 3 for a home matchup with Gardner-Webb. Kickoff at Historic Riggs Field is slated for 7 p.m. Admission is free to the public. The match will also be available to watch on ACCNX.
