CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson sophomore Xander Sevian has been named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced today by the league office. The award is Sevian’s first ACC Offensive Player of the Week honor of his Clemson career and the first Offensive Player of the Week award for the Tigers this season.
Thursday night Sevian netted his first brace of his career in a dominating 5-1 win over No. 3 Furman. Sevian scored the third and fourth goals for the Tigers to help seal the season opening win. This season, the Boulder, Colo., native has totaled two goals with one assist through two matches so far this season.
The Tigers entered the rankings this week, coming in at No. 3 by TopDrawerSoccer, No. 13 by College Soccer News and No. 16 by United Soccer Coaches. Clemson heads to South Carolina on Friday night for the Palmetto Series with kickoff set for 7 p.m. and live stats will be available at ClemsonTigers.com.
