Ransford Gyan Named to MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List for Second-Straight Season

Clemson, S.C. – Junior midfielder Ransford Gyan has been named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, it was announced Wednesday by the United Soccer Coaches Association.

Clemson’s soccer program is no stranger to the MAC Hermann Trophy, as Bruce Murray (1987), Wojtek Krakowiak (1998), and Robbie Robinson (2019) have all earned college soccer’s most coveted honor, while Oskar Ågren was a finalist in 2021, Joran Gerbet was a semifinalist in 2024 and Gyan was named a semifinalist in 2025 for the award. 

A native from Sunyani, Ghana, Gyan returns to Clemson after earning ACC Freshman of the Year, Second Team All-ACC, TopDrawerSoccer Freshman Best XI First Team, TopDrawerSoccer Freshman Postseason 100 – No. 1 and TopDrawerSoccer Freshman of the Year after the 2024 season. After the 2025 season, Gyan earned ACC Midfielder of the Year, First-Team All-South Region, No. 3 player on TopDrawerSoccer's Midseason Watchlist, United Soccer Coaches First Team All-America, All-ACC First Team honors and was named a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist. 

Fifteen men’s players and 15 women’s players become Hermann Trophy semifinalists following completion of Division I All-America voting following the fall season.
