Clemson, SC — Former Clemson golfer Isabella Rawl won the Tennessee Open golf tournament on Saturday at Stonehenge Golf Course in Crossville, Tenn. She won the event as an amateur despite competing against many professionals.
Rawl is the first amateur to win the Tennessee Open since 2023 and is the 11th amateur to win in the 28-year history of the tournament.
Rawl, who graduated from Clemson in May, had rounds of 73-72-69 on the par 70 course. She was in seventh place after the first round, third place after the second, then overcame a six-shot deficit to former Texas golfer Faith Kilgore to win by one shot in the final round.
Rawl finished ahead of Kilgore, who had a two-shot lead over Rawl entering the final round. When Rawl finished at four-over-par 214, she was two shots behind Kilgore. But Kilgore made a triple bogey on the final hole, allowing Rawl to move into first place for the first time in the tournament.
The native of Lexington, S.C. played for the Tigers from 2021-25. As a freshman she won the clinching match when the Tigers won their first ACC Championship.
Rawl was a four-time first-team Academic All-ACC selection and four-time Women’s Golf Coaches Association Academic Scholar. She finished her career with a 73.08 stroke average, sixth best in school history. Her 16 rounds in the 60s rank fourth, and her 33 under-par rounds are third. She is second in eagles with seven and fifth in total birdies with 310.
Rawl is the second Clemson women’s golfer to win a tournament in the last week. On July 19, former Clemson All-American Annabelle Pancake-Webb won the weather-shortened Greater Toledo Classic on the Epson Tour. It was her sixth top 10 finish this year, but her first victory. Pancake had rounds of 66-67 for a 133 total to win the event.
The native of Indiana is now second in the points race on the Epson Tour. The top 15 in the points race at the end of the year earn an LPGA Tour Card for the 2027 season.
