CLEMSON, S.C. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced that the Clemson Volleyball program was a recipient of the 2025-26 AVCA Team Academic Award on Wednesday.
This marks the seventh consecutive season the Tigers have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award, eighth overall, and the fifth year under Head Coach Jackie Simpson Kirr.
The award comes after the team had seven All-ACC Academic honorees last season as well as McKenna Gildon, Claire Luoma, Kate Hansen and Katherine Sandt were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections.
The team recently posted a 3.35 spring semester and 3.28 fall semester GPA during the 2025-26 school year. The program has secured a GPA of 3.0 or higher in 15 straight semesters. Clemson volleyball has also recorded an Academic Progress Rate of 994 or higher in 10 consecutive cohorts, including a second-consecutive perfect 1000 this past cohort.
The AVCA Team Academic Award, which was initiated during the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative GPA on a 5.0 scale.
