CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson University Men's Golf's Colin Salema (Matthews, N.C./Providence) and Hampton Roberts (Cary, N.C./Panther Creek) both advanced at the U.S. Amateur Final Qualifying at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C. on Monday, July 20.
Salema finished tied for third overall, as the top 10 finishers advanced. Salema shot a three-under-par 69. He finished with four birdies, including three on the front nine.
Roberts finished tied for eighth at one-under-par with a score of 71. He finished even on the front nine with a 36, while posting birdies on holes 10 and 12 to help lead him to the 71 finish.
Both players advanced to the 2026 U.S. Amateur Championship which will be played at Merion Golf Club from August 10-16.
This national competition features the best male amateur golfers in a week of incredible competition. Merion welcomes the U.S. Amateur back to the East Course, where it was last hosted in 2005.
Merion Golf Club has a long and storied place in championship golf history. The 2026 U.S. Amateur is the 20th USGA championship to be hosted at Merion, and the seventh men's U.S. Amateur.
