EUGENE, Ore. – Clemson Track & Field will have nine individual athletes and three relay teams competing in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Eugene, Ore. between Wednesday, June 10 through Saturday, June 13.
The men’s competition begins Wednesday with Clemson’s 4x100m relay team seeking a place in Friday’s championship final. The Tigers are scheduled to compete in the semifinal round at 5:05 p.m. PT. Sharvis Simmonds will open his championship campaign in the 110m hurdles semifinal at 6:08 p.m. on Wednesday. Later in the evening, Jalen Johnson is slated to compete in the 200m semifinal at 7:29 p.m. PT. Both athletes will look to advance to Friday’s finals, scheduled for 5:42 p.m. PT and 6:37 p.m., respectively. Divine Aniamaka will represent Clemson in the men’s triple jump final on Friday at 5:10 p.m. PT. The men’s 4x100m relay final is scheduled for Friday at 5:02 p.m. PT.
The women’s competition gets underway Thursday afternoon when Kendra Dye competes in the hammer throw final at 2:30 p.m. PT. Clemson's women's 4x100m relay team will race in the semifinal round Thursday at 5:05 p.m. PT while Oneka Wilson will take the track in the 100m hurdles semifinal at 6:08 p.m. PT. In the field, Shantae Foreman will compete in the long jump final at 6:40 p.m. PT before returning Saturday for the triple jump final at 5:10 p.m. PT. Middle-distance standouts Gladys Chepngetich and Judy Kosgei are set to race in the 800m semifinals Thursday at 6:58 p.m. PT with hopes of qualifying for Saturday's final at 6:14 p.m. PT. The Tigers will also be represented in the women's 4x400m relay semifinal Thursday at 8:36 p.m. PT. The championship final is scheduled for Saturday at 7:21 p.m. PT. Rounding out Clemson's individual qualifiers, Nancy Cherop will compete in the women's 5,000 meters final Saturday at 6:55 p.m. PT. Championship finals for the women's 4x100m relay and 100m hurdles are scheduled for Saturday at 5:02 p.m. PT and 5:42 p.m. PT, respectively, pending qualification through Thursday's semifinal rounds.
