CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson softball head coach John Rittman announced the signing of transfer Mackenzie Mathis to the 2026-27 roster on Tuesday. Mathis joined the Tigers’ roster after spending the previous two seasons at the College of Charleston.

- 2026 CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player
- 2025 All-CAA Second Team and All-Rookie squad
- Pitched 161.0 innings and 13 complete games in 2026
- Finished second in the CAA with 137 strikeouts
- Posted a 3.35 ERA through 33 games played and 24 starts
- Had a career-high 13 strikeouts vs. Hofstra in the CAA Championship Game (2026)
- Two-time CAA Pitcher of the Week in 2026
- Three-time CAA Rookie of the Week in 2025
- Had a 1.66 ERA in conference play in 2025 with eight wins and three shutouts
- Became the first Cougar since 2016 to have multiple double-digit strikeout games in a season (2025)
Mathis is set to join the 21 returners that helped the Tigers to their sixth-straight NCAA Regional appearance. She will also join four incoming freshmen (Abbi Call, Emma Ford, Mcartney Harrington and Jordyn Johnsen) as the newest member of the 2026-27 squad.
