Chapel Hill, N.C. – No. 12/9 Clemson Lacrosse (15-5) topped Davidson (15-5) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Dorrance Field on Friday evening. The Tigers move on to face No. 1/1 (2 Seed) North Carolina on Sunday, May 10. First draw is slated for high noon, and the action will stream live on ESPN+.

The Tigers remain undefeated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, with a 2-0 record. Head Coach Allison Kwolek earned her second career NCAA Tournament win (in four appearances extending back to her time at Richmond).

Clemson’s 19 goals marked a program single-game NCAA Tournament record. The squad's previous high was 11 goals against Navy (May 9, 2025). The record was smashed at halftime, as Clemson entered the locker room up 13-2.

Freshman midfield Aubrie Eisfeld led the Tigers with five goals on six shots, recording a hat trick in the first stanza. Sophomore Attack Brooke Goldstein followed with a quartet of goals. Freshman midfield Emma Penczek netted a hat trick (three goals) and led Clemson with a team-best five assists. Sophomore defensive specialist Kira Balis led the day with 10 draw controls.

FIRST QUARTER | 6-1, Clemson

The Tigers rattled off five straight goals to kick off the matchup. Davidson and Clemson then traded a single goal each to close out the opening stanza. Aubrie Eisfeld notched a hat trick early, along with a pair of goals from Brooke Goldstein and a singular goal from Alexa Spallina.

SECOND QUARTER | 13-2, Clemson

Clemson ripped six straight goals in the second frame. Then, just like the previous quarter, the Tigers traded goals with the enemy. 

THIRD QUARTER | 17-3, Clemson

Davidson came out of the break and scored its third goal of the contest. Followed by four straight from the Tigers, extending Clemson’s lead to 14 goals.

FOURTH QUARTER | 19-6, Clemson

Davidson found the back of the net three straight times to open the final frame. In the final two minutes of action, Clemson cemented the victory with back-to-back goals from junior attackers Jasmine Stanton and Anna Brown.
