LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior Divine Aniamika set a program record and qualified for his first NCAA Outdoor Championship in the triple jump and a total of three individuals and the men’s 4x100m relay team advanced to Eugene after competition on Friday. Senior Sharvis Simmonds (110m hurdles) and sophomore Jalen Johnson (200m) joined Aniamika as individual qualifiers, while the team of Daniel Kidd, Ian Johnson, Kevin Collins and J. Johnson locked up the relay squad.
Aniamaka led the charge on day three with a program record triple jump of 16.13m (52 feet 11 inches) that automatically qualified him for his first NCAA Outdoor Championships. He finished second in his flight and fourth overall to punch his ticket to Eugene after reaching the record mark on his second jump of the night and surpassing the previous best set by Jeremiah Green in 2018 at 16.06m.
The evening session also had the Clemson men’s 4x100m relay squad (Kidd, I. Johnson, Collins & J. Johnson) punching their ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championship after they placed third in their heat with a season best 38.85 seconds. The time automatically qualified for the semifinals round in Eugene, Ore. and sits fourth on Clemson’s All-Time Top 5 list. Kidd, I. Johnson and Collins will all make their Eugene debut with this qualification.
Simmonds joined the quartet of relay athletes and Aniamaka by punching his ticket to Eugene in the 110m hurdles. Simmonds finished second in his heat, seventh overall, to automatically qualify for semifinals in the event that will take place on June 10. This marks the first NCAA Outdoor Championship appearance for Simmonds.
The evening concluded with J. Johnson securing his second-straight NCAA Outdoor Championship berth in the 200m after he finished 12th overall in the event with a final time of 20.46. J. Johnson previously qualified in the event in 2025.
