LEXINGTON, Ky. – Clemson Track & Field will compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East First Round in Lexington, Ky. this Wednesday, May 27 through Saturday, May 28.

Clemson has 30 entries who will strive to be one of the 12 finalists (the top three from each heat plus the next three best performances) in each event to earn a trip to Eugene, Ore. and compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships from June 10-13.

Regional competition begins Wednesday with Clemson’s men’s sprint and hurdle groups taking center stage. Sharvis Simmonds and Khailan Vitalis open the meet for the Tigers in the men’s 110m hurdles at 6 p.m. Ian Johnson and Kevin Collins will compete in the men’s 100m dash at 7 p.m., followed by Grant Holliday in the men’s 400m at 7:25 p.m. Clemson closes the evening with three entries in the men’s 200 meters at 8:45 p.m., featuring Collins, Johnson and Jalen Johnson.

The Tigers’ women’s squad opens Thursday with Ella Brooks and Kendra Dye competing in the women’s hammer throw at 10 a.m. Shantae Foreman will then represent Clemson in the women’s long jump at 6 p.m., while Oneka Wilson and Briana Campbell race in the women’s 100m hurdles at the same time. Kimeka Smith competes in the women’s shot put at 6:30 p.m., followed by Aniyah Kitt in the women’s 100m at 7 p.m. Shanque Williams will race in the women’s 400m at 7:25 p.m., before Clemson sends a trio of Judy Kosgei, Shaneal Clarke Giddings and Gladys Chepgnetich into the women’s 800m at 7:50 p.m. Sophia Curtis rounds out the night in the women’s 400m hurdles at 8:20 p.m.

Friday’s action features Clemson in three men’s events. Brandon Pottinger and Shyhiem Scotland will compete in the men’s high jump at 2 p.m. The Tigers’ men’s 4x100m relay team of Daniel Kidd, I. Johnson, Collins and J. Johnson is scheduled for 5 p.m. with Ayomide Oyetunji and Andre Hodge serving as reserves. Divine Aniamaka closes the day in the men’s triple jump at 6 p.m.

Clemson wraps up competition Saturday with five women’s events. Danielle Noble will compete in the women’s high jump at 2 p.m. The women’s 4x100m relay team of Aleksandra Stoilova, Kitt, McKenzie Calloway and Campbell take the track at 5 p.m., with Foreman listed as a reserve. Curtis and Foreman will both compete in the women’s triple jump at 6 p.m. Nancy Cherop is slated for the women’s 5,000m at 8:10 p.m., before Clemson closes the meet in the women’s 4x400m relay at 8:45 p.m. with Williams, Kitt, Brynn Buelow and Chepgnetich, while Sadè Gray and Clarke Giddings are listed as reserves.
