ACC CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Clemson opened the ACC Championships with a strong showing across the sprints, mid‑distance and throws on Thursday, highlighted by multiple season‑bests, personal records and several athletes advancing to finals.

The Tigers dominated the men’s 200m, placing four runners in the top seven of prelims. Ian Johnson led the field in 20.27 seconds (+2.2), a season‑best that ties him for fourth on Clemson’s all‑time top‑five all‑conditions list. Jalen Johnson followed in 20.48, also a season‑best, while Kevin Collins (20.64, +2.2) and Daniel Kidd (20.75, +2.2) each advanced with season‑best marks. Grant Holliday added a personal best of 20.84 to finish 11th overall.

On the women’s side, Briana Campbell secured a finals berth with a season‑best 23.07 (+2.8) to place fifth in the 200m. Aniyah Kitt also advanced after running 23.24 (+2.8), while Shanque Williams (23.36), McKenzie Calloway (23.43, +2.1) and Sade Gray (23.49, +2.8) each posted strong marks, including a personal best for Williams.

Jayden Brown moved through to the men’s 400m hurdles final with a season‑best 51.56, placing seventh in prelims.

In the mid‑distance events, Garrett Brown delivered one of the Tigers’ top breakthroughs of the day, clocking a personal‑best 3:43.22 in the men’s 1500m to finish 12th and climb to No. 5 on Clemson’s all‑time list. The women’s 1500m produced two qualifiers, led by Nancy Cherop’s personal‑best 4:11.81, the fourth‑fastest mark in program history, and Judy Kosgei’s 4:15.71.

Clemson closed the evening with a standout performance in the women’s hammer throw, where Mary Ella Brooks recorded a personal‑best 58.88m. The throw keeps her at No. 6 on the Tigers’ all‑time list and earned her a ninth‑place finish.
