TUCSON, Ariz. – Clemson (17-12, 8-5 ACC) defeated Mississippi (19-10, 6-8 SEC), 4-3, Friday afternoon in Tucson, Ariz. in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers will face either site host No. 8 Arizona or Northern Arizona tomorrow, May 2.

Clemson secured the doubles point with wins on the top two courts before play was halted on court three. At No. 1, the 22nd‑ranked pairing of Viktor Markov and Noa Vukadin set the tone with a 6-3 victory over Ole Miss’ Milburn and Stromberg. The Tigers clinched the point moments later when Henrik Bladelius and Marko Mesarovic closed out a 6-4 win against D’Agostino and Pampanin on court two. The remaining match on court three went unfinished with Clemson’s Farzam and Lopez leading Ole Miss’ Chambonniere and Martin, 5-4, when the doubles point was decided.

Ole Miss struck first with the opening singles result, as Jankanj defeated Bladelius, 6-1, 6-3, on court four. Clemson answered quickly at No. 3, where Farzam rolled past Pampanin 6-1, 6-3 to even the overall score.

The Tigers grabbed their first singles lead when Vukadin closed out a tight first set and pulled away late for a 7-6(4), 6-3 win over No. 121 Chambonniere on court two. Ole Miss responded at No. 6, with Stromberg topping Lopez, 6-4, 7-5, to level the match again.

On court one, No. 83 D’Agostino rallied past No. 44 Markov 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, putting the Rebels back in front. Clemson forced a decisive finish on court five, where Mesarovic outlasted Schlagenhauf 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 to clinch the Tigers’ final point of the day.
