TUCSON, Ariz. – Clemson men’s tennis (16-12, 8-5 ACC) will face Mississippi (19-9, 6-8 SEC) in the first round of the NCAA Men’s Tennis Tournament on Friday, May 1, hosted by No. 8 seed Arizona in Tucson, Ariz. The match is set for a 1 p.m. EST (10 a.m. MST) first serve at Robson Tennis Center. The match will be streamed through Cracked Racquets and live results will be available closer to first serve.
Clemson has faced Ole Miss seven times in program history with the Tigers having a 2-5 record. The two programs first met in 1941, when Ole Miss won at home, 5-1. Clemson won the next meeting, set in 1981, with a 7-2 home victory. Ole Miss would go on to take the next four matches, played between 1989 and 1992, before Clemson took home the most recent meeting (4-2, 2014).
The Tigers hold an all-time record of 21-27 in the NCAA Tournament and have made the tournament in consecutive years for the first time since 2013 and 2014. Last year, the Tigers defeated Quinnipiac, 4-0, in the first round before falling to site host Columbia, 4-2.
