Chapel Hill, N.C. - No. 20 Clemson Women’s Tennis (16-5, 6-3 ACC) fell 4-1 to No. 5 North Carolina (20-2, 8-1 ACC) in Chapel Hill, N.C. on Friday night.

In doubles play, the No. 90 pair of Senior Romana Cisovska and Sophomore Talia Neilson-Gatenby fell 6-2 to the No. 3 pair of Reese Brantmeier and Alanis Hamilton on court two. Over on court three Sophomores Artemis Aslanisvili and Sophie Clayton were right there in the fight with Tatum Evans and Maddy Zampardo keeping the match tied through the first three points. Ultimately Evans and Zampardo took the match 6-3 to clinch the doubles point. At the time of the doubles point clinch the No. 35 pair of Senior Jade Groen and Freshman Rinon Okuwaki were tied 5-5 with the No. 4 pair of Oby Kajuru and Susanna Maltby.

Neilson-Gatenby made quick work of No. 111 Anna Frey on court four, taking the match 6-2, 6-1 to even the match to 1-1. Groen fell 6-1, 6-1 to No. 8 Oby Kajuru on court two to put the Tar Heels ahead 2-1. Cisovska fell 6-3, 6-0 on court three to No. 27 Tatum Evans to bring the match to 3-1 in favor of North Carolina. No. 53 Okuwaki fell 6-4, 6-2 to No. 2 Reese Brantmeier on court one.

UP NEXT: Clemson heads over to Durham to face off with No. 24 Duke on Saturday, April 4 at 2 p.m.
