CLEMSON, S.C. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released an updated watch list for The Bowerman late Wednesday afternoon with Clemson’s Gladys Chepngetich holding her position on the list.
Chepngetich joined the watch list on update No. 3 after receiving votes in updates on the first one, before making her debut on update No. 2 a month ago.
To initially make the watch list, Chepngetich won the 800 meters at the NCAA DI Indoor Championships. Earlier in the indoor season, she became the second-fastest woman in collegiate history in the 800 meters, running 1:58.81 at the John Thomas Terrier Challenge.
So far, this outdoor season, Chepngetich ranks seventh nationally in the 800m with a time of 2:00.67 (Wake Forest Invitational), while also running a leg on the 18th-fastest 4x400m relay team (3:28.78, Tom Jones Memorial).
