RALEIGH, N.C. — Clemson Tigers rowing heads to the Lake Wheeler Invitational this weekend following one of its strongest early-season performances. Racing gets underway Friday morning at 10:10 a.m. for the Tigers. The event is co-hosted by North Carolina and Duke, and features more than a dozen collegiate teams.
The 20-team field is composed of eight Atlantic Coast Conference teams and includes six CRCA ranked teams.
The event is three sessions split over two days. Friday morning action kicks off at 9:30 a.m. ET, followed by the afternoon session at 2:15 p.m. ET. Saturday's racing starts at 9:00 a.m. ET from Lake Wheeler.
All races from Lake Wheeler will be streamed on ACC Network Extra, with results available via Regatta Timing.
Competing against a competitive field that included multiple nationally ranked programs, the Tigers showed depth across all four boats, advancing each entry to the B Finals. Clemson highlighted the weekend with a B Final victory in the Second Varsity Eight, along with a runner-up finish in the Second Varsity Four and a third-place showing in the First Varsity Four.
The 2V8’s bounce-back performance stood out, turning a fourth-place heat finish into a decisive win on Saturday. Meanwhile, the 1V8 and 2V4 added strong finishes in their respective finals, helping Clemson place seventh overall in the eight-team field.
With momentum building, the Tigers now shift focus to Lake Wheeler as they continue to refine lineups and build speed against another competitive field.
