CHARLOTTE, N.C. – No. 3 seed Clemson (14-4, 7-3 ACC) is set to face No. 2 seed Stanford (14-3, 8-2 ACC) on Friday, April 24, in the ACC Tournament Semifinals at American Legion Memorial Stadium. Opening Draw is slated for 8 p.m. sharp with the game airing live on ACCN. The winner will claim a spot in the ACC Championship title game on Sunday at noon.
THE WIN WOULD MEAN
- If Clemson wins, it will advance to the ACC Championship game for the first time in program history (four years).
- If the Tigers win, Clemson would extend its program record win streak to 12-games and Clemson would own sole possession of the longest active win streak in the nation. (Delaware currently has 11 straight wins as well).
- With a victory, Clemson would improve its ACC Tournament record to 4-3.
STANFORD SERIES HISTORY
Clemson is 0-2 all-time against Stanford. The programs first met last year in California, where the Tigers fell 14-8. A rematch took place in the third game of this season in Clemson, where Clemson fought hard, falling 10-9 against (then) No. 4/5 Stanford.
LAST TIME OUT
No. 3 seed [No. 10/10] Clemson (14-4, 7-3) defeated No. 6 seed [No. 16/14] Notre Dame (12-5, 6-4), 12-9, in the ACC Championship Quarterfinals at American Legion Memorial Stadium on Wednesday night. The victory marked the Tigers' 11th straight win, further extending the program-record streak. Several performers surpassed individual milestones as well. Freshman defender Tegan Scott (team-leading five caused turnovers) now holds the program single-season caused turnovers record with 63. Freshman attack Alexa Spallina (two goals, one assist, three points) surpassed the 100-point milestone, having 101 points and counting. Junior Midfielder Natalie Shurtleff (three goals) surpassed the 150-career point milestone and now has 151 points in her career. Sophomore attack Brooke Goldstein led Clemson with four goals on four shots and a single ground ball. Freshman midfielder Emma Penczek and freshman midfielder Aubrie Eisfeld dished out three assists each. Sophomore defender Kira Balis recorded eight of Clemson’s 11 draw controls.
