ORLANDO, Fla. — Clemson rowing delivered one of its strongest multi-boat showings of the young spring season at the inaugural Orlando Invite, hosted by No. 11 UCF on Lake Pickett on April 17–18. Racing against six nationally ranked programs — including No. 13 Alabama, No. 14 Duke, No. 15 Miami, No. 19 Penn, and No. 24 Oklahoma — the Tigers competed four boats, qualifying for the B Finals for each based on Friday's results, and came away with a victory in the 2V8, a runner-up finish in the 2V4, and a third-place result in the 1V4.
The highlight of the weekend belonged to the Second Varsity Eight, which rebounded from a fourth-place heat on Friday to win its B Final outright on Saturday, crossing the line at 6:50.3 ahead of SMU and Oklahoma.
The 2V4 added a runner-up finish in its Final at 7:53.0, while the First Varsity Four took third at 7:34.3, going nearly the exact same time both days. The First Varsity Eight competed in the B Final, placing second at 6:40.9. The Tigers finished seventh overall with 13 points, ahead of SMU in the eight-team field.
Clemson returns to action April 24–25 at the Lake Wheeler Invitational in Raleigh, N.C.
