CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson finished day two of the Wake Forest Invitational and day one of the Tom Jones Memorial Friday evening, pulling together three top 10 performance and a tied freshman record between both sites.

Kendra Dye opened the weekend at the Tom Jones Memorial with a breakthrough in the women’s hammer throw, winning the event with a mark of 61.95m (203’ – 3.00”). The throw moved her to No. 4 on Clemson’s all‑time list. In the men’s pole vault, Matthew Phillips cleared 5.05m (16’ – 6.75”) to finish fourth and tie the Clemson freshman record. Clemson also claimed a victory in the men’s high jump, where Brandon Pottinger cleared 2.12m (6’ – 10.25”) to secure the event title. In the women’s shot put, Kimeka Smith placed ninth with a season best of 16.54m (54’ – 3.25”), a mark that elevated her to No. 4 in program history.

At the Wake Forest Invitational, distance standout Nancy Cherop continued her strong outdoor form, placing seventh in the invitational section of the women’s 1500m in 4:12.68. The performance is a season best that also keeps her at No. 4 on Clemson’s all‑time list.
