PREVIEW

  • The Clemson Softball program returns home for a five-game stretch that begins with the second game of the Palmetto Series presented by the South Carolina Education Lottery on the softball diamond in 2026
  • The two teams have met 10 times since Clemson began its program in 2020, including earlier this season in Columbia where the Tigers claime an 8-0 run-rule victory in six
  • Clemson holds an 8-2 advantage against the Gamecocks, including 3-1 at McWhorter Stadium

QUICK HITS

  • Clemson takes a 27-16 record into the midweek against South Carolina, and has outscored opponents 240-170.
  • The Tigers have totaled 320 hits on the year with sophomore Marian Collins (.361 - 48 hits) and freshman Mac Pavese (.343 - 48 hits) leading the way
  • Pavese, alongside sophomore Corri Hicks, have both contributed 33 RBIs on the season, while Collins (31), Jamison Brockenbrough (27) and Julia Knowler (21) follow close behind
  • Clemson takes a 165 game hit streak that began during the UNCG matchup at regionals on May 19, 2023. The 165 mark is a program record and surpassed the previous mark set from the inaugural game to April 15, 2022.
  • On the season, Clemson has six top 25 victories (Oregon, Liberty, Georgia, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Virginia Tech)
  • As a team, Clemson has strung together 11 shutout victories with the most recent coming at South Carolina on March 25

PIP PIP HOORAY

  • Sophomore Taylor Pipkins entered college as an infielder, but made her impact as a freshman in right field
  • This year, Pipkins has played second base and both left and right field
  • Heading into the South Carolina game in 2026, Pipkins has recorded one home run in five-straight games dating back to April 3 at Virginia Tech
  • In 2025, she provided a strong spark in the bottom third of the lineup, contributing at least one hit, one run, one RBI or all three in 26 games last season that was highlighted by:
  • Hitting the go-ahead grand slam against Virginia in the bottom of the sixth inning to push the Tigers to the ACC Championship Semifinals which helped her be named the ACC Tournament MVP.
  • A crucial sac fly to score the go-ahead run against top-ranked Tennessee in the top of the ninth inning. She also clocked a hit and scored a run that game
  • Breaking open the no-hitter against Stanford with a double into left field that went on to spur Clemson's offense to secure the series upset win
  • Pipkins, along with Cintron, finished the year with four sac flies, which tied for third most in program history in a single year
