Weymouth, Mass. - No. 24 Clemson Women’s Tennis (16-7, 6-5 ACC) fell 4-2 to Boston College (9-12, 1-10 ACC) on Friday night in Weymouth.
On court three, the pair of Sophomores Artemis Aslanisvili and Sophie Clayton took the first doubles match of the night 6-2 over Olivia Cutone and Leyden Games in a match that took just 28 minutes. The pair of Sophomore Talia Neilson-Gatenby and Senior Romana Cisovska were locked in a tight battle on court two with the match locked at five before the pair of Tola Glowacka and Isabella Camacho took the match 7-5. In the final doubles match Senior Jade Groen and Freshman Rinon Okuwaki fell 7-5 to Seren Agar and Olivia Benton to put Boston College up 1-0 heading into singles play.
Groen evened the match at one point each during singles, defeating Agar in straight sets 6-2, 6-4. The Eagles regained its lead soon after as Cutone defeated Clayton 6-4, 6-3 on court six. On court five, Aslanisvili took down Barteck 6-3, 6-3 to even the match at 2-2 a piece. Boston College took the lead again 3-2 after Neilson-Gatenby fell 6-4, 6-4 to Camacho on court four. No. 58 Okuwaki battled hard but ultimately fell to No. 124 Benton 7-6 (4), 6-2 to give the Eagles the win. At the time of the match clinch, Cisovska led Glowacka 6-3, 3-6, 3-0.
UP NEXT: Clemson competes in their final match of the regular season with a 11 a.m. first serve at Syracuse on Sunday, April 12th. The ACC Championships will then begin on April 14th in Cary, N.C.
