CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Track & Field will compete in Texas this weekend, splitting between the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational.
Clemson the busy weekend at the Texas Relays on Thursday with its throwers and hurdlers competing. Mary Ella Brooks and Kendra Dye lead the Tigers in the women’s hammer at 11 a.m., followed by Matthew Auble in the men’s hammer later in the afternoon. Sophia Curtis and Jayden Brown will headline the 400m hurdles prelims to close out day one.
After competing at the Texas Relays, Brooks, Dye and Auble will head down to San Marcos to compete in throwing event scattered between Friday and Saturday. Brooks will partake in the women’s hammer throw at 10 a.m. on Friday with Dye and Auble competing in the hammer throws, which are set to begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Friday brings the program’s largest slate at the Texas Relays, highlighted by a deep sprint group in the 100‑meter prelims, followed by Bianca Martinez in the high jump and junior Tia Stapleton in the long jump. Clemson will also roll out a full relay lineup with both 4x100 squads, the men’s 4x400 and the women’s SMR and DMR all taking the track.
Championship Saturday features several marquee opportunities for Clemson, including Shyhiem Scotland and Brandon Pottinger in the men’s high jump, Divine Aniamaka in the triple jump and Jalen Johnson in the invitational 200 meters. The Tigers also enter strong relay groups in the 4x200 and 4x800 before closing the weekend with the women’s 4x400.
