CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 25/RV Clemson Tigers claimed its seventh shutout victory of the 2026 season after defeating College of Charleston, 7-0, on Wednesday evening inside McWhorter Stadium. With the win, Clemson improved to 14-7, while College of Charleston dropped to 8-12.
The Tigers drew nine walks at the plate to tie for the most in a single game this season. The top of the Clemson lineup continued to deliver as senior Jamison Brockenbrough drew two of Clemson’s walks, scored twice and finished with one hit and one RBI. Freshman Mac Pavese went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, three RBIs and one walk on the night. Junior Kiley Channell rounded out Tigers with multiple walks, drawing two, and added one hit and one run scored.
The Tigers struck first as Pavese reached on a fielder’s choice that plated Brockenbrough, who had walked and advanced to third on a wild pitch and passed ball. In the next at bat, Marian Collins, who finished 2-for-4 on the night, hit a double into right center that scored Pavese from first to double Clemson’s lead. Collins advanced to third on a groundout, and freshman Sarah Breaux rounded out the scoring for the inning with an RBI that returned Collins home to make it 3-0.
Defensively, the top of the third was highlighted by Clemson’s ninth double play of the year. After Sierra Maness struck out a Cougar batter, catcher Corri Hicks made the turn to Breaux at third who completed the play to Collins second to catch a runner in a rundown that was attempting to steal. This kept the score at 3-0 through three innings.
Clemson struck again in the fourth. The Tigers loaded the bases after Pavese and Collins singled, and Julia Knowler walked. A single to left field from Macey Cintron sent Pavese home, extending Clemson’s 4-0 edge. The following inning, Channell stood on second after walking and advancing off of a ground out. Brockenbrough singled to center field to score Channell before she scored off of a home run from Pavese. It was Pavese’s fourth home run of her freshman campaign and third within the last six games.
The Clemson defense continued its hot streak with another double play turned in the top of the sixth, as Channell, Collins and Pavese connected on a 643 double play to end the inning. College of Charleston advanced a runner around to third in the top of the seventh in hopes of scoring, but Lexie Hames capped the night by catching a lineout in the circle as Clemson claimed the 7-0 win.
Abby Dunning started the Tigers off in the circle, facing eight batters over two innings. Maness entered for relief, striking out three Cougar players across three innings to earn her seventh win of the year. Keira Crosby and Hames split the final two innings for Clemson in the circle.
