CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 38 Clemson (10-11, 5-5 ACC) took down No. 22 Stanford (12-7, 5-4 ACC) with a 4-2 upset victory at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility Saturday afternoon. This was the first win against Stanford in program history.
Clemson claimed the doubles point with steady play on the top two courts, as Noa Vukadin and Viktor Markov beat Stanford’s Razeghi and Chang 6-4 on Court 1 and Henrik Bladelius and Marko Mesarovic added another 6-4 win over Godsick and Rivera on Court 2. With the point secured, the match on Court 3 between Banerjee and Leach of Stanford and Matisse Farzam and Yannic Nittmann of Clemson was abandoned, giving the Tigers a clear early edge.
Clemson delivered a resilient singles performance, highlighted by Viktor Markov’s win on Court 1 after Banerjee retired early in the second set and Noa Vukadin’s straight‑set victory over Razeghi on Court 2, giving the Tigers two early points. Stanford answered with wins from Godsick over Matisse Farzam on Court 3 and Rivera over Henrik Bladelius on Court 4 but Clemson regained control when Marko Mesarovic rallied past Chang on Court 5 in three sets to push the Tigers back in front, securing a 4-2 victory. The match on Court 6 between Leach and Lopez Cherubino was abandoned with the players deep in a third set.
