CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 38 Clemson (9-11, 4-5 ACC) roared back from a 3-1 hole to defeat No. 55 Cal (12-10, 4-5 ACC), 4-3.

Clemson and Cal traded the first two doubles matches, as Henrik Bladelius and Marko Mesarovic defeated Cal’s Silva and Aney, 6-3, before Matisse Farzam and Yannic Nittmann fell to Pouatcha and Munk Mesa, 6-3. With the doubles point hanging in the balance, all eyes pointed towards court one where Noa Vukadin and Viktor Markov polished off a 6-2 victory over Lechno-Wasiutynski / Stepanov, sending the Tigers to singles play with a 1-0 lead.

The Bears took the first point in singles play when Luemkemann defeated Noah Lopez Cherubino in two sets, 6-1, 6-2. Cal took a 2-1 lead with another two-set victory as Bladelius fell to Munk Mesa 6-3, 6-4. On court one, the Bears doubled their lead with Lechno-Wasiutynski defeating Vukadin, 7-5, 6-2. Mesarovic dropped the first set against Pouatcha but stormed back to take the next two for a 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory. On court three, Farzam drew the Tigers even with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 victory over Silva. With the match tied 3-3, attention shifted to court two where No. 53 Markov and Stepanov were locked in a three-set battle. Markov took the first set, 6-3, before dropping the second 4-6. In the deciding third set, Silva went up 3-1 and traded the next two games with Markov. Down 4-2, Markov rattled off four straight games to win the set, 6-4, to wrap up the match and send the Tigers home with a 4-3 victory.
