UCF BLACK & GOLD CHALLENGE RESULTS

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson track & field closed out a productive opening weekend at the UCF Black & Gold Challenge with event wins, all‑time marks and podium sweeps across both days of competition.

The Tigers opened the meet Friday with one of their strongest event groups in the women’s hammer where Ella Brooks threw a personal best 58.68m to finish third and climb to No. 5 on Clemson’s all‑time list. Kendra Dye followed in fourth with a PR of 58.17m, moving to No. 6 in program history. On the track, Aniyah Kitt won the women’s 200m in 22.85, good for No. 4 all‑time. Ian Johnson claimed the men’s 200m in 20.62 seconds and Daniel Kidd added a third‑place finish in 20.79 seconds.

Clemson controlled the men’s pole vault behind Matthew Phillips’ winning clearance of 5.03m and a third‑place finish from Drake Risser at 4.83m. In the women’s shot put, Kimeka Smith delivered a 15.21m effort to move into seventh on the program’s all‑time list. The Tigers capped day one with a dominant showing in the women’s 1500m, as Nancy Cherop broke the facility record in 4:12.89 to climb to No. 3 in school history, followed by Judy Kosgei in 4:14.48 for a Clemson 1–2 finish.

Momentum carried into Saturday, highlighted by Danielle Noble’s breakthrough victory in the women’s high jump. Competing outdoors in the event for the first time, Noble cleared 1.75m to tie for sixth on Clemson’s all‑time list. Both 4x100m relays swept their events with the women’s quartet of Aleksandra Stoilova, Kitt, McKenzie Calloway and Briana Campbell running 43.53 seconds, and the men’s team of Andre Hodge, I. Johnson, Kevin Collins and Jalen Johnson winning in 39.40 seconds.

In the hurdles, Sharvis Simmonds and Khailan Vitalis advanced through prelims before securing a 2–3 finish in the men’s 110m finals, clocking 14.05 and 14.08. Clemson also swept in the men’s high jump, where Brandon Pottinger and Shyhiem Scotland both cleared 2.15m to take the top two spots.
