UCF BLACK & GOLD CHALLENGE RESULTS
CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson track & field concluded day one of the UCF Black & Gold Challenge with several strong performances across the sprints, distance, throws and pole vault groups, highlighted by personal bests and additions to the program’s all-time lists.
In the women’s hammer throw, the Tigers delivered one of the day’s most impressive event group showings. Ella Brooks launched a personal best 58.68m to place third and climb to No. 5 on Clemson’s all‑time list while teammate Kendra Dye followed closely in fourth with a PR of 58.17m, solidifying her position at No. 6 in program history.
On the track, Aniyah Kitt won the women’s 200m in 22.85 seconds, a personal best that moved her to No. 4 on Clemson’s all‑time list. The men’s 200m produced similar success with Ian Johnson taking the victory in 20.62 seconds and Daniel Kidd securing third in 20.79 seconds.
Clemson also controlled the men’s pole vault where Matthew Phillips cleared 5.03m to earn the event title. Drake Risser added a third‑place finish at 4.83m, giving the Tigers two podium spots.
In the women’s shot put, Kimeka Smith delivered a strong early‑season mark, throwing 15.21m to finish fourth and move into seventh on Clemson’s all‑time list.
The women’s 1500m capped the day with a dominant distance performance. Nancy Cherop surged to the win in 4:12.89, breaking the facility record and climbing to No. 3 in Clemson history. Judy Kosgei crossed in 4:14.48 for second, also under the previous facility record. Emily Lamontagne added a personal best of 4:28.32, placing 15th.
