CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 9/10 Clemson (6-4, 2-3 ACC) will head up to Pittsburgh this Saturday, March 21 to play the No. 24/25 Panthers (4-5, 2-4 ACC) at Highmark Stadium, just off where the Monongahela, Allegheny and Ohio Rivers meet. Both teams are set to square off at 1 p.m. with the game airing on ACCNX and live stats being available HERE.

Entering the competition, Clemson is undefeated against Pitt with a 4-0 record. The first, third and fourth meetings were held in Clemson while the second meeting was played in Pittsburgh. In the all-time series, Clemson has outscored Pitt, 61-39 but this will be the first matchup where both teams are ranked. This game is pivotal for the ACC standings as Clemson sits ninth with a 2-3 conference record while Pitt is right behind the Tigers in 10th with a 2-4 record.

Pitt opened the season with back-to-back wins against Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio and No. 14 Duke in Pittsburgh. The Panthers had a tough skid over the next seven games, posting a record of 2-5 with losses against No. 23 Penn State, No. 8 Notre Dame, No. 20 Virginia, No. 1 North Carolina and No. 16 Boston College. The two wins in that stretch were Virginia Tech and American.

Teagan Scott has been a force on Clemson’s dominant defense this season, leading the nation with 37 caused turnovers (shattered the previous freshman record of 12) and the team with 28 ground balls. This past Tuesday, The Atlantic Coast Conference and Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association each named Scott the defensive player of the week following her six caused turnover and seven ground ball performance against No. 21/21 Virginia. Clemson’s defense as a whole ranks No. 4 in the ACC and is top 20 in the NCAA, averaging 8.50 goals allowed per game.
