CLEMSON, S.C. - No. 18 Clemson Women’s Tennis (14-4, 4-2 ACC) swept Virginia Tech (3-9, 0-4 ACC) 4-0 on Saturday afternoon, giving the Tigers their seventh straight victory over the Hokies.

The Tigers started doubles play needing to win just one of the two matches to earn the point as Sophie Clayton and Artemis Aslanisvili won by walkover due to injury. Talia Neilson-Gatenby and Romana Cisovska clinched the doubles point for Clemson in just 20 minutes with a 6-3 victory over the Hokies’ Castillo and Woods. At the time of the clinch, Jade Groen and Rinon Okuwaki led Mulready and Ziets-Segura, 5-3.

Ria Bhakta won by walkover due to injury to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead at the start of singles play. On court five, Aslanisvili won her first set 6-0 and was up 3-0 when her opponent retired due to injury, putting the Tigers within one of clinching the match.
