CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson’s track & field program wrapped up the Clemson Invitational Saturday evening with three records taken down, 13 performances that cracked various all-time lists for the Tigers, 11 wins and 22 personal record breaks.

After setting a new freshman record in the women’s shot put (15.06m / 49’ – 05.00”) at the Clemson Opener on Dec. 5, 2025, Kimeka Smith broke her own record twice this afternoon. On her second throw attempt, she recorded a distance of 15.49m / 52’ – 05.25”, which would have placed her sixth on Clemson’s all-time top 10 list. Three throw attempts later, Smith further extended her freshman record with a first place distance of 15.98m / 52′ – 05.25″, which currently sits fifth on Clemson’s all-time top 10 list.

Brian Kweyei won the men’s 600m with a time of 1:15.42. His time set a new record for Clemson in the event, overtaking Tarees Rhoden’s time of 1:16.10 (2024). Kweyei was previously second on the all-time top 5 list with a time of 1:16.43 before jumping up to first.

Gladys Chepngetich, who already owned the top spot on Clemson’s all-time top 10 performances list, improved from 1:28.22 to her winning 600m time of 1:26.66.

      • On her fifth throw, she launched her best distance of 15.98m to break the freshman record for a third time in her second career meet. This throw currently sits fifth on Clemson’s top 10 list.
