PRINCETON, N.J. – In the final fall regatta for the Tigers, Clemson secured two top-12 and five top-20 finishes at the prestigious Princeton Chase on Sunday.
Three Tiger boats started the day with the Women’s Open 8+. Boat A was the first of three Clemson crews to finish the event, clocking in a time of 14:35.032, good for 11th place out of 62-boat field and seven seconds faster than last year’s fastest time. Clemson’s Boat B finished 19th overall with a final time of 15:13.245, 12 seconds faster than last year’s Boat B. Clemson’s C Boat came just behind them, finishing 40th overall with a time of 15:58.835.
The Women’s 4+ event commenced at 1:20 P.M with five Clemson boats in competition. Clemson’s Boat A led the way for the Tigers and clocked a final time of 17:18.622, good for 12th place. Boats D, B and C all finished consecutively for 19th, 20th and 21st place respectively. Boat D finished the Princeton Chase with a time of 17:47.294 with Boat C securing 20th less than five seconds behind them with a final time of 17:51.928. Again, less than five seconds after Boat B, Boat C notched a final time of 17:56.050. Following behind the trio, Clemson’s F Boat secured 28th with a final time of 18:46.027.
