No. 25 Clemson Falls 3-2 to No. 10 Duke in Regular Season Finale

CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 25 Clemson (7-5-5, 4-4-2 ACC) fell to No. 10 Duke (12-3-1, 7-3-0 ACC) in a 3-2 thriller Thursday night in Durham, N.C.

Natalie Brooks netted her first career goal, giving the Tigers an early 1-0 lead. Later in the match, Anna Castenfelt scored her fourth career goal to make it a one-goal game.

How it Happened

Brooks put Clemson on the board first in the 13^th minute, capitalizing on a header from a Duke defender and slotting the ball into the far-right corner for her first career goal, giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Neely Kerr was credited with her fourth assist of the season. Duke scored back-to-back goals in the 22^nd and 28^th minutes to take a 2-1 lead. The Tigers ended the first half outshooting Duke 8-4.

Duke scored again in the 60^th minute, extending its lead to 3-1. In the 80^th minute, Anna Castenfelt received a no-look, back-heel pass from Juju Harris and delivered a sliding finish to cut Duke’s lead to 3-2. Castenfelt’s fourth goal of the season was the last of the match. Nona Reason played the final 45 minutes in goal, collecting three saves.
