Wilmington, N.C. – Clemson women’s golf shot the best round of the day for the second day in a row to hold on to the top spot following the second day of stroke play in the 2024 ACC Championships. A top-four finish tomorrow would put the Tigers into Sunday’s match-play semifinals as they eye an ACC Championship repeat.

Sophomore Isabella Rawl still holds the individual lead, shooting one-under-par on Friday to move to -6 overall. Rawl carded one bogey on the front nine, but turned in a bogey-free back nine with two birdies to hold on to the lead, with Wake Forest’s Rachel Kuehn making a charge.

Sydney Roberts carded the best round of the day for the Tigers, nearly matching Rawl’s first round, but finishing at -4. Roberts sank seven birdies on the day, while bogeying the par-four 14th and finishing her front nine with a frustrating double-bogey on nine. She now sits tied for fifth at -4 for the weekend.

Annabelle Pancake turned in an eagle on the par-five eighth hole, but finished the day at even par to stay at -2 for the tournament and sit tied for 10th. Chloe Holder finished the round at +2 and is tied for 12th heading into the final round. Melena Barrientos birdied three of her last 6 holes to finish the day at -1 and is now tied for 30th at +3.

Kuehn’s five-under-par 67 led Wake Forest to the second-best score of the day at 283, just one stroke behind the Tigers’ 282. The Demon Decons now sit three-shots behind the Tigers in second place. Virginia is third at -5, while North Carolina is fourth at -1 and the final team to be under par through two rounds. NC State rounds out the top five at +3.

The Tigers are set to tee off for the final round of stroke-play on Saturday at 9:50 am and are paired with Wake Forest and Virginia. The top four teams advance to Sunday morning’s match-play semifinals, then the two winnings teams will advance to Sunday afternoon’s match play championship.
