Winston-Salem, N.C. – The Clemson men’s tennis team continued its momentum into day two of the Wake Forest Invitational as the team tallied a combined record of 9-4 in singles.
In their lone singles matches of the day, Jacob Jahn defeated Elias Grubert, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, Carlos Kelaidis bested Carlos Vicente, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, and Tim Pitts knocked off Charles Parry, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-2. With their victories, Jahn and Kelaidis advance to the flight finals were they are set to face each other at 9:30 am.
Pierre Louis Dodens and Mike Agee each picked up singles victories over athletes from Stetson in the day’s opening round. Dodens notched a straight set win over Linus Bergevi while Agee held off Chistian Mills, 6-3, 7-6 (4). Additionally, walkover victories were awarded to Gabriel Diaz Freire twice on the day while Teodor Guisca also benefitted from a match that was not played.
In doubles, Diaz Freire/Liu were the only duo to pick up a victory after snagging a 6-3 win over Lobo/Stuart of Mercer to advance to the flight title match.
