Greenville, S.C. – Following day two of the Debbie Southern Furman Invitational, the Tiger women’s tennis squad finished the day 2-1 in doubles and 2-4 in singles.
Freshman Zaina Nait Omar earned the first singles win of her career after beating Marta Falceto of Mississippi State 6-2, 6-4. Senior Sydney Riley also picked up a singles victory, defeating Longhorn Gabby Cusano in straight sets.
In doubles play, Mackenzy Middlebrooks and Laura Marti ousted Duckworth/Bonilla of Tennessee 8-0 while Louka/Riley took their match against Furman’s Dillon/Rompf in an 8-7(3) tie-break.
The Tigers look to cap off the weekend tomorrow with singles play beginning at 10 am.
