CLEMSON, S.C. – Head women’s basketball coach Amanda Butler and the Clemson Tigers are back for year two of the Butler Era! Following a historic run through the Atlantic Coast Conference and to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Clemson is looking to build on their success from last season. The Tigers will face a tough non-conference schedule in 2019-20 that features four NCAA Tournament teams from the previous year.

Season tickets for Clemson women’s basketball games are on sale now at ClemsonTigers.com/tickets or by calling 1-800-CLEMSON. Tickets are $75 for general admission seats. Fans also have the opportunity to purchase a men’s and women’s basketball mobile pass for $199. With the mobile pass, fans are granted entry to every 2019-20 men’s and women’s basketball regular season home game in Littlejohn Coliseum.

Home Sweet Home

Clemson kicks of the 2019-20 campaign with four straight home games beginning with an in-state contest against Furman on Nov. 6. The Tigers then host Navy (Nov. 9), Alabama (Nov. 12) and Alabama State (Nov. 18) to close out the season-opening homestand.

The Tigers have won five straight season openers and are 31-13 all-time in the first game of the new season. Their win percentage drastically increases when opening the season at home, boasting a 20-4 record in season openers in front of the home crowd. Clemson will have the opportunity to eclipse the 400-win mark at Littlejohn Coliseum in the first homestand of the year as the team sits at 398-200 all-time in LJC.

Palmetto Series

The annual Palmetto Series matchup with South Carolina is taking place in Clemson this season when the Tigers host the Gamecocks on Nov. 24. Clemson holds the all-time series edge at 33-31 with a 22-10 mark when playing at home.

The Gamecocks have come out on top in the last nine meetings between the teams. Clemson’s last victory over South Carolina came exactly 10 years ago to the scheduled day, a 94-92 overtime win over the Gamecocks on Nov. 24, 2009 in Littlejohn Coliseum.

Fun in the Sun

Clemson is headed to Daytona for Thanksgiving to take part in the Daytona Beach Invitational from Nov. 29-30. The Tigers will face former ACC foe Maryland, who finished the 2018-19 season ranked ninth in the nation, and Alcorn State, who Clemson has not played since 2000.

Big 10/ACC Connection

The Tigers will face not one, but two Big 10 opponents for the first time since the 2000-01 season. Clemson will travel to Happy Valley on Nov. 21 to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions for the first time in more than 15 years. The Tigers only win against Penn State (1-4 overall) came in State College on Dec. 18, 2002.

Clemson’s other Big 10 opponent comes in the Big 10/ACC Challenge. The Tigers will go head-to-head with the Iowa Hawkeyes on Dec. 4 in Iowa City. In eight appearances in the Big 10/ACC Challenge, Clemson has posted a 4-4 overall record, most recently defeating Illinois 69-67 in overtime a season ago.

Border Wars

Clemson’s final two games before winter break feature a pair of opponents from South Carolina’s border states. The Tigers are set to visit Mercer on Dec. 15 in the program’s first meeting with the Bears since 1981.

The final non-conference game of the season takes place on Dec. 20 when Clemson hosts NC A&T at Littlejohn Coliseum. The series between the two programs sits at .500 with each team posting a victory on their respective home courts.
