Clemson Notes: 

  • The Tigers are 10-9 on the season and 8-6 in ACC play, and are ranked 29th in the nation according to the ITA poll released on April 19.
  • Clemson concluded the regular season last weekend with losses to two top-10 ranked opponents, #2 North Carolina (7-0) and #8 Duke (5-2).
  • Two Clemson singles players, senior Joana Eidukonyte (23rd) and freshman Ayan Broomfield (50th), are ranked in the top 50 of the ITA singles rankings.
  • Clemson’s No. 1 doubles team of Eidukonyte and freshman Fernanda Navarro is 4-2 on the season, and 3-1 in ACC doubles matches. The pair upset the number-one ranked doubles team in the nation, North Carolina’s Hayley Carter and Whitney Kay, on April 15.

Notre Dame Notes:

  • Notre Dame is 12-12 overall and 5-9 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and is ranked 47th in this week’s ITA poll.
  • The Irish are coming off of a 4-0 victory over Pittsburgh in the ACC Championships First Round on April 20.
  • Three Irish singles players are ranked in the top 125 of the most recent ITA rankings, led by Quinn Gleason at 48th.

Clemson-Notre Dame Series Information

  • Notre Dame has an 8-5 all-time advantage in the series against the Tigers, in which the first match was played in 1992. Clemson has a 3-0 record against the Irish since Notre Dame joined the ACC two years ago.
  • When the Tigers and Irish met earlier this season on April 8 in Notre Dame, Ind., Clemson won in a 4-3 come-from-behind battle. After Notre Dame opened the match with a 3-0 lead, Eidukonyte at No. 2, Broomfield at No. 1, Navarro at No. 3 and freshman Ally Miller-Krasilnikov at No. 5, each won their singles matches to claim the thrilling win.
