N.C. State defeats Clemson 2-0

CLEMSON, SC-Aaron King scored his 11th goal of the season in leading 16th-ranked N.C. State to a 2-0 win over 22nd-ranked Clemson in a men’s Atlantic Coast Conference soccer match at Clemson, SC Friday night.

N.C. State is now 7-3-1 overall, and 2-1-1 in the ACC. Clemson falls to 4-3-1 this season and 0-3 in league play.

N.C. State is ranked 16th by Soccer America and Clemson is ranked 22nd according to the latest NSCAA poll.

N.C. State scored with 27:00 gone in the match. John Queeley scored his second goal of the season on a six-yard shot after a flury in front of the goal.

The Wolfpack scored again in the 35th minute. Aaron King scored his 11th goal of the season on a eight yard shot. King leads the nation in scoring.

Clemson will play host to Jacksonville Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Tigers’ next action.
