CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers (10-8, 3-4) fell 67-82 to the Florida State Seminoles (14-4, 4-2), despite Tessa Miller’s third double double effort of the season (13 points, 4-8 FG, 2-2 3FG, 13 rebounds) and two other double-digit efforts by Loyal McQueen (15 points, 7-15 FG, 4 assists) and Mia Moore (14 points, 6-0 FG, 2-2 3FG).
The Tigers were strong in the first half, going on a 7-0 run spanning a 1:36 period in quarter one that became a 13-2 run to start off the second quarter. Clemson scored 25 points in the first quarter, which ties as their highest-scoring first quarter of the season. Clemson scored 18 out of their 30 points in the first half, giving them the edge over the Seminoles going into halftime.
Clemson and Florida State battled in the second half, with some big shots from Hannah Kohn and Mia Moore to wind down the third quarter, the Tigers only trailing by one to the Seminoles. However, Florida State capitalized on every opportunity, especially beyond the arc, shooting 10-19 from 3FG in the second half, and the Tigers struggled to recover.
