Men’s Track Ranked No. 20 in the Nation

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson men’s track team was ranked No. 20 in the country in the initial rankings released by the USTFCCCA on Monday. The Tigers are one of six ACC teams nationally-ranked.

Program Director Mark Elliott’s squad has had a strong start to their 2022 season, setting at least three all-time top-10 marks in each of its four meets to this point. As the season approaches its championship phase, Elliott is confident about where his team stands and feels its latest ranking is an indicator of what is to come.

“I’m excited that we’re ranked… they have already started showing out early. Being nationally ranked is a testament to how good of a team we have right now.”

Most recently, Devon Brooks won the 60 meter hurdles event at the Hokie Invitational with a time of 7.64 seconds, good for the third-best mark in Clemson history. Rojé Stona has impressed in the shot put, throwing a PR 19.14m and moving himself ever closer to the top mark in school history.

The Tigers will welcome 16 teams to their Indoor Track and Field Facility this upcoming weekend for the Bob Pollock Invitational, which serves as their penultimate home meet before ACC Championships at Virginia Tech from February 24-26.
