Men’s Tennis Wins Over South Alabama and Furman

April 4, 1999

CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson defeated South Alabama 4-3 and Furman 7-0 in men’s intercollegiate tennis Friday afternoon at Clemson, SC.

With the wins, Clemson improves to 16-6 overall this season. Clemson will play host to Virginia Commonwealth at 9:00 p.m. and Baylor at 2:00 on Sunday.

Clemson’s Head Coach, Chuck Kriese now has 498 wins in his career as he is in his 24th season at Clemson. He could win his 500th match Sunday. Kriese could become only the 14th coach in collegiate tennis history to reach the 500 win plateau.
