Altanta, Ga. – The Clemson men’s tennis squad continued play at the Georgia Tech Invitational with two rounds of singles on Sunday. All four Tigers notched wins on the day.
After receiving a bye in first round of the Navy Consolation bracket, sophomore Jacob Jahn took his lone match of the day, 6-2, 6-2, against Pablo Aycart of Miami. Teodor Giusca also earned a victory after defeating Vanderbilt’s George Harwell, 6-4, 6-4, to advance to the White Draw semifinal. However, in the semifinal, the sophomore fell to Tennessee’s Giles Hussey, 6-3, 6-2.
Senior Gabriel Diaz Freire and junior Yizhou Liu each added victories for the Tigers in the opening round of the day. Diaz Freire made quick work of Mississippi State’s Florian Broska, 6-1, 6-1, and Liu captured a 6-4, 1-6, 10-5 win over Max Freeman of Vanderbilt.
The Tigers wrap up tournament play tomorrow with the final round of doubles and singles set to begin at 8 a.m.
