Men’s Soccer Opens NCAA Tournament Play Sunday

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson men’s soccer team will play host to Lafayette College (Easton, PA) of the Patriot League Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. on the Tigers’ Riggs Field. This game is in the first round of the 32-team NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament.

The Tigers are 20-1 this season and are the Atlantic Coast Conference Champions. Clemson will be playing in their 20th NCAA Tournament and have posted a 35-18 record over the years in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers won the National Championship in 1984 and 1987. Clemson is also seeded first in the 32-team field and are ranked first in all the major soccer polls.

Lafayette College is led in scoring by Leidy Klotz with 12 goals and eight assists for 32 points.

Wojtek Krakowiak leads the Tigers in scoring with 62 points, 27 goals and eight assists. Mark Lisi leads the team in assists with 15. Scott Bower has 14 assists.

The winner of Clemson-Lafayette match will play the winner of the William & Mary-South Florida match.
