Bornkamp Earns CoSIDA Academic All-America Honors

CLEMSON, S.C. – After a dominant season on both the field and in the classroom, sophomore Megan Bornkamp earns CoSIDA Third Team All-American honors. She becomes only the fifth player in Clemson women’s soccer history to garner Academic All-American honors, joining Katelyn Reeve, Emily Byorth (two-time honoree), Jenna Polonsky and Mackenzie Smith. Majoring in management, Bornkamp holds a stellar 3.92 GPA.

Bornkamp racked up the awards in her second season in the orange and regalia, becoming a United Soccer Coaches two-time All-American and First Team All-Atlantic Region, First Team All-ACC, ACC All Tournament Team, Preseason All-ACC Team, CoSIDA Academic All-District Team and now Academic All-American.

She led the team in goals this season with 10 as a center back and registered 30 points for the Tigers throughout the season, also a team high. Bornkamp was third in the ACC for total assists, fourth in points per game, fourth in total points and seventh in goals per game.
