CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson’s cross country team will compete for the second time this season on Saturday, Sept. 17 when the men’s and women’s teams each head to Greenville for the Furman Invitational. The men and women will each run a 5k with the women beginning at 9:15 a.m. and the men will start at 10 p.m.
The meet will feature 11 total schools, including the Wake Forest women’s team. This marks the first time this season that either Clemson team will get to see how they match up with an ACC opponent.
The Tigers are looking to build upon a successful first meet at Kennesaw State on Friday, Sept. 2, when both the men and the women had the top three finishers of their respective meets. Freshman Maddie Dinneen shined for the women’s team, winning the 4k by over 25 seconds.
Brynne Sumner, Courtney Farishian and Madison Roush were the next finishers, each completing the race within three seconds of each other. Marlin Young came out on top of the men’s 6k, followed closely by Sawyer Dagan and Daniel Sullivan.
