CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson cross country teams are set to compete at the ACC Championship Meet in Charlottesville, Va. on Friday morning. ACCNX will stream both the men’s and women’s races live, and live results can be found online HERE.
The men will toe the line first at Virginia’s Panorama Farm Course at 10:40 a.m. for an 8k, and the women will compete in a 6k at 11:30 a.m.
“Both teams have progressed nicely throughout the season,” stated Head Coach Vicky Pounds in anticipation of the meet. “Every race has been a stepping stone to this one. I expect nothing but their best effort for this race which will in turn give us the results we have been working so hard for.”
Running for the Clemson women will be freshman Maddie Dinneen, who has led the way for the Tigers in three meets thus far. Brynne Sumner and Madison Roush both figure to play a crucial role in the women’s team’s success. Sumner was the top Clemson finisher at the Crimson Classic, completing the 6k in 21:35.3.
On the men’s side, Victor Ndiwa, Sawyer Dagan and Marlin Young each come into the meet with strong momentum. Ndiwa and Dagan finished 14 and 16o, respectively, out of 140 competitors at the Crimson Classic two weeks ago. Young, who had been the Tigers top finisher in two of the team’s four regular season meets, finished 23 at the Crimson Classic.
