Junior third baseman Brad McCann was one of 30 college baseball players selected to the Golden Spikes Award Watch List, released April 7 by USA Baseball. As part of its continuing efforts to salute amateur baseball excellence, USA Baseball, in partnership with the Major League Baseball Players Association, presents the 2004 Golden Spikes Award. USA Baseball will announce its five finalists for the award in June.
McCann leads the Tigers with a .421 batting average, eight homers, and 30 RBIs in 27 games. Former Tiger shortstop Khalil Greene won the Golden Spikes Award in 2002.
